We have launched a unique, non-profit clinic to put the power of healthcare—not sickcare—back in your hands. Through a low-cost monthly subscription, you have access to a lifestyle medicine team and high quality primary care. Labs and medications are available to you at significantly reduced prices by cutting out the economic “middle man.” Hands-on culinary medicine sessions are well worth the cost (aka personalized teaching kitchens). Many additional lifestyle interventions are included with no extra charge. Same-day or next-day appointments for urgent patient needs are the norm—in our clinic, via secure video, or at your home or workplace. No co-pays, co-insurance, or surprise costs. Expect transparent, up-front pricing. We endeavor to dig deeply to uncover the underlying causes of disease, as well as provide you with the resources you need to deal with them.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit clinic, in harmony with the principles of the Seventh-day Adventist church and in cooperation with local Seventh-day Adventist Churches. This offers the Greater Lansing community a step above primary care: advanced whole person care.
Whole person care follows Christ’s example to compassionately work to restore all aspects of individuals and families to their originally created ideal. Whole person care endeavors to address all aspects of your health—physical, mental/emotional, spiritual, and even relational. We search for the root causes and take into account the contexts in which you are dealing with your health concerns. Our goal is for you to experience whole person healing.

Meet the staff
Founder & Medical Director
Kimberly Azelton, MD, MPA, DipABLM, founder of Family & Lifestyle Medicine, serves as medical director and physician in the clinic. Double-boarded in family medicine and lifestyle medicine, with a fellowship in health services management, her passion is uniting scientifically sound healthcare, education, and spiritual care.
Staff Physician
Jonathan Sharley, MD, DipABLM, with his lovely wife, moved to the area to join Dr. Azelton and the clinic team. He is board-certified in both family medicine and lifestyle medicine and passionate about helping his patients to thrive. He loves developing meaningful relationships, providing personal and compassionate quality care, and seeing God’s healing power at work in the lives of his patients.
Your clinic family also includes a team of seasoned culinary medicine experts, fitness instructor, health coaches, dietitian, and more! We are also grateful for our volunteer chaplains who offer coaching in the areas of finance, family, marriage, career-planning, and spirituality.

This includes women’s health, children’s health, proactive preventative care, mental health, chronic diseases (such as diabetes, COPD, dementia, arthritis, kidney disease, heart disease, etc), and much more.
Combined with our primary care approach is our philosophy of medicine which endeavors to address root causes of disease, instead of settling for quick-fix “bandages.” Care extends beyond the clinic with culinary medicine, physical fitness, health coaching, spiritual care, and meeting needs relating to social determinants of health. Have first access to cooking schools, exercise classes, and other community programs.
Our patients receive urgent care services from our team. Whether it’s examining a twisted ankle, placing stitches to close up a laceration, or testing for flu/COVID, we love to decrease the number of actual urgent care/emergency room visits our patients have to take.
